You will contribute to:

This position will contribute to the effective management of WorkCover’s legal panel and common law claims portfolio, including the maintenance of a legal audit and performance monitoring program, and support WorkCover’s legal risk framework by providing legal advice and support to internal stakeholders.

You will be responsible for advice and strategies to minimise WorkCover’s legal risks and management of the common law claims portfolio to achieve business outcomes working closely with both internal and external stakeholders.

A bit about you:

Admitted to practice as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland, your 2+ years of post-admission experience is evident in your practical problem solving, verbal, written and presentation skills including the ability to present recommendations clearly and effectively.

With a proven ability to achieve successful outcomes, your understanding of legal issues in relation to corporate governance, commercial and procurement/contract issues, litigation and insurance is coupled with a strong financial/business acumen including the ability to interpret financial and statistical reports.

Comfortable managing complex and sensitive consultations, negotiations and partnership arrangements with a wide range of stakeholders, your willingness to contribute to the team and to work effectively and cooperatively with stakeholders will assist you in achieving group and organisational goals.
